Trench Drains

The 6” Wide Precast Trench Drain system is built for exceptional drainage performance, even in the most challenging environments.

Crafted with durable polypropylene and a reinforced heavy-duty frame, this trench drain system is perfect for applications demanding high load-bearing capacity and long-lasting performance.

Measurement and dimensions

The 6-inch wide trench drain is designed to accommodate high flow rates, making it perfect for regions with heavy rainfall or frequent water buildup.

Pre cast trench drains

These are pre manufactured trench drainages according to specific requirements of the industry and have the advantages of speedy installation, epitomic strength and durability and are ideal for industrial , commercial and residential operations

Overview

Production process of plastic injection molded trench drains at BTPL

  • Material Preparation
    • Selection of suitable plastic materials (e.g., polypropylene or polyethylene)
    • Materials are dried and blended for uniform quality

  • Mold Design and Preparation
    • Design the mold according to the required trench drain specifications
    • Mold is fabricated and inspected for precision

  • Injection Molding Process
    • Plastic material is melted and injected into the mold under high pressure
    • Ensures the material fills all parts of the mold

  • Cooling and Solidification
    • Molded trench drain cools and solidifies into the desired shape
    • Controlled cooling prevents defects

  • Trimming and Finishing
    • Excess material is trimmed off
    • Surface finishing for a clean and polished appearance

  • Quality Inspection
    • Check for defects, dimensions, and overall quality
    • Ensure it meets industry standards and requirements

  • Packaging and Distribution
    • Trench drains are packaged and prepared for delivery

Understanding trench drains- for our users

Trench drains are drainage systems, used to remove water from surface, collect dust, balance surface load and more…

There are various types of trench drains

A. Pre-Sloped Trench Drains
Pre-sloped trench drains have sloping surface ( the slopes basically 0.5%- 1%). It facilitates flow of water towards the drainage system. They are basically used in commercial spaces like industrial plants, sidewalks and parking lots. It reduces debris building.

B. Neutral (Non-Sloped) Trench Drains
They have no slopes and have uniform depth. They are genrally externally graded and rely on gravity for directing water flow. they are generally used in residential driveways, pool decks and warehouses. they are suitable for custom installations

C. Slot Drains
Slot drains have a narrow slit slot and dont have a wide grate. they are genrally made of polymer concrete or stainless steel where cleanliness is required. They clog less and have easier cleaning owing to high pressure flushing. They have applications in breweries, airports, residential landscaping, gold courses and are used in landscaping and foundation protection. They reduce the foundation hydrostatic pressure and allows basement waterproofing.

E. Catch Basin Integrated Trench Drains
These systems have catch basins at intervals to deposit and coagulate sediment at one different places. This helps prevent clogging in underground drainage systems as there are specific debris collection points and helps increase the lifespan of the drainage system. they are generally used in loading docks and roads and high traffic areas.

F. Polymer concrete trench drains

These are pre-formed and modular drains and is made from composite material created from resin binders and mineral aggregates. they are resistant to chemicals and environmental wear along with having the benefit of high load capacity. They are used in chemical plants, manufacturing facilities, heavy duty industrial zones.

G. Plastic (HDPE/Polypropylene) Trench Drains
They are often made from high density polyethylene (HDPE)/polypropylene and are resistant to corrosion and lightwieght. They are generally used in patios, pool decks, water parks and residential driveways

H. Stainless Steel Trech Drains– Stainless steel trench drains are used to maintain hygeine standards in food and beverage processing, pharmaceuticals and ensures rust resistance, corrosion resistance and can be irradiated, if required to ensure bacterial or viral infection resistance.

I. Cast Iron trench drains

These drains have high strength and impact resistance and are generally used in industrial facilities and roads where heavy duty traffic and vehicles moe around. They are best for high load applications. They are generally used in warehousing and loading docks facilities, bridges, airports, logistic facilities involves in heavy goods transfer, pterol pumps, and other public infrastructure

Different types of trench drains based on their applications

  • Residential trench drains
  • Commercial trench drains
  • Industrial trench drains
  • Trench drains built specifically for public infrastructure

Quality parameters on which trench drain is accesed

  • Ability to resist compression – Compressive strength
  • Ability to resist corrosion- Corrosive strength
  • Ability to resist abrasion- Abrasive strength
  • Ability to bear different kinds of loads- Load classes
  • Ability to resist fire- Fire resistance
  • Ability to resist chemicals- Chemical resistance
  • Ability to resist ultraviolet radiation- UV resistance
  • The maximum load trench drains can hold- Proof load
  • The slope of the drains – Slope percentage
  • Ability to absorb shocks from impact with breaking- Impact resistance
  • Ability to expand under heat- Thermal resistance
  • Ability to inhibit flow of current- Electrical conductivity and more…

We produce a variety of plastic trench drains for various industrial applications through plastic injection molding.
